ACT ALL-STARS

September 17, 2020

ACT All-Stars: The top 25% of Cedar Creek's Class of 2020 earned a remarkable 30.7 ACT composite average, according to Director of Guidance Services Stacy Doyal Hunt. The ACT numbers are part of our annual School Profile report compiled by Registrar Paula Dowling and Mrs. Doyal Hunt and released each fall.

"ACT averages are calculated using a student's highest composite score from the exam," Mrs. Doyal Hunt said. "These numbers help us learn how Cedar Creek students perform academically compared to others around our state and nation, and we are extremely proud of the trends we are seeing."

Scores for the top 50% of 2020 graduates came in at 29.3, and the average composite for the entire 51-member class was 26.3. (Louisiana's statewide average in 2019 was 18.8; 2020 numbers have not yet been released.)

The Cedar Creek School Profile report also tracks scholarship dollars, TOPS eligibility, and college acceptance rates by class. This year 96% of graduates qualified for TOPS with more than $5 million in scholarships offered.

Mrs. Doyal Hunt said these achievements are evidence of students' hard work combined with quality classroom instruction.

"Our teachers at every level are committed to preparing students for college and beyond," she said. "The high academic performance of our students is one of many reasons why Cedar Creek is such a worthwhile investment."
